virtual disorder

when i was little, my mother used to spend lots of time in handicraft lessons with us. i still remember painting on ceramics, i remember what i painted on a mug and how we used to decorate all sorts of things with pictures from tissues. i read somewhere that the memories you remember vividly are the ones at which you were truly there.

i guess my need for self-made things started there. i find it moving when someone gives you something they have come up with themselves and made with their warm hands. my dad's friend, who is an artist, said that you put the thoughts that come up in your mind during the process of making something into the work. it's your thoughts that give the end product it's shape.

now it's all beginning to pay back. i get new handicraft ideas every day. on the weekend i made super cute cloth covers for a diary, which is now completing against my computer (i confess it's much more comfortable to write here, since my thoughts are much faster that my handwriting). just now i finished eating my self-made cereals, which are just delicious. but my new hobby is baking bread. there is only one good bread i have ever eaten in luxembourg, but it doesn't compete with mine at all. now i am going to make dried banana chips, since the ones in shops have been dried in fat and sugar, basically. my next project will be spicy tea.
